The Labor Market Today: Is Unemployment Cyclical or Structural?
2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
1150 Seventeenth Street, NW
Washington, D.C. 20036
America’s persistently high level of unemployment is one of the greatest challenges facing policymakers in the wake of the Great Recession. Is this unemployment crisis a product of normal business cycle activity, or does it stem from a structural problem in the labor force? CEPR Co-Director Dean Baker took part in panel discussion with Peter Diamond of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Kevin Hassett of AEI. A video of the event is available below or after the jump.
