CEPR Co-Director Mark Weisbrot participated in a discussion on the IMF’s recent Staff Position Note, “Financing the Response to Climate Change,” which proposes using Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) for climate finance. Other panelists included Jorge Gastelumendi, senior policy advisor at The Nature Conservancy; Ilana Solomon, a policy analyst at ActionAid; and Hugh Bredenkamp, deputy director of the IMF’s Strategy, Policy and Review Department.
