As a strategic leader at CEPR, Debarati drives organization-wide and international team initiatives. With over 20 years of experience, she specializes in project design and management, combining strategic vision with operational expertise to advance CEPR’s mission. Her work is grounded in a commitment to social impact, effective leadership, and collaborative execution.

As a Managing Editor at The Economist Intelligence Unit, she headed two flagship publicationsCountry Commerce and Country Financedelivering in-depth analysis of the regulatory and business environments of 56 countries.

During her tenure as Editor and Publications Manager for Nobel Prize–winning economist Joseph E. Stiglitz at Columbia University, Debarati led content development for major projects, including the books Globalization and Its Discontents Revisited and The Euro. She oversaw the production of articles, op-eds, and academic papers, and prepared materials for high-level speaking engagements at institutions such as the United Nations, World Bank, IMF, and Federal Trade Commission.

As Director of Operations at the Roosevelt Institute, Debarati strengthened organizational effectiveness by spearheading initiatives to streamline internal processes and enhance cross-team communication.

Debarati’s educational background combines the social sciences and global studies, with a Master’s in International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a BA in Sociology from Drew University.

Debarati’s work has taken her to various locations, including India, Kenya, Germany, Austria, London, New York City, and Washington, DC.
