As a strategic leader at CEPR, Debarati drives organization-wide and international team initiatives. She has over 20 years of experience and is dedicated to catalyzing positive social impact through strategic leadership and effective management.

As a managing editor at The Economist Intelligence Unit, she headed two publications, Country Commerce and Country Finance, which provided comprehensive coverage of the regulatory environment in 56 countries.

During her tenure as editor and publications manager for Nobel Prize–winning economist Joseph E. Stiglitz at Columbia University, Debarati managed and developed content for major projects, including the books Globalization and Its Discontents Revisited and The Euro. She also oversaw the production of over 100 articles and op-eds as well as approximately 70 papers for top academic journals. Additionally, she prepared materials for speaking engagements at institutions such as the United Nations, World Bank, IMF, and Federal Trade Commission.

As director of operations at the Roosevelt Institute, Debarati enhanced organizational efficiency by launching several projects to improve internal processes and communications.

Her educational background combines social sciences and international affairs, with a Master’s in International Affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a BA in sociology from Drew University.

Debarati’s work has taken her to various locations, including Washington, DC, New York City, Austria, Germany, India, Kenya, and the United Kingdom.
