DC for Obama partnered with other area progressive organizations to convene a grassroots summit aimed at promoting strategies that will bring the change we believe in. The summit offered the opportunity to network with hundreds of progressives from around the country, learn the latest in advocacy tactics, and hear from senior policy advisors on key issues including:
- Health Care
- Environment and Energy
- Economy
- Foreign Policy
- Education
- Immigration
- Veteran's Affairs
The Summit featured talks by nationally recognized leaders in the progressive movement including:
- Ilyse Hogue, Campaign Director, MoveOn
- Celinda Lake, President, Lake Research Partners, veteran Democratic pollster
- Judy Feder, Professor and Former Dean, Georgetown Public Policy Institute, health policy expert
- Dean Baker, Co-Director, Center for Economic and Policy Research, distringuished economist
- Mike Signer, Senior Policy Advisor and Director of the Homeland Security Presidential Transition Initiative, Center for American Progress
- Dianne Dillon-Ridgley, Chair, Environmental Advisory Board of Green Mountain Energy™
- Mary Giovagnoli, Director of Advocacy, National Immigration Forum
