CEPR Spotlight: Sanctions

December 13, 2022

In May of 2022, CEPR launched a new online newsletter: CEPR Sanctions Watch.

Economic sanctions have become one of the main tools of US foreign policy despite little proof of their efficacy, and widespread evidence that they can cause severe harm to civilian populations. CEPR Sanctions Watch aims to shine a light on the harmful impact of sanctions on people around the world by providing regular updates on US sanctions policy. (SUBSCRIBE to CEPR Sanctions Watch HERE)

The latest edition of Sanctions Watch has updates on sanctions and their impact in Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, and Venezuela and their impact, plus other general news and commentary from the month of November 2022. Previous editions of the Sanctions Watch newsletter can be found here.

In addition, CEPR is close to publishing a new in-depth research report that will provide a comprehensive survey and assessment of the literature on the effects of economic sanctions on living standards in target countries.

CEPR is one of the very few organizations closely monitoring the harmful impact of economic sanctions. Your donation will allow us to continue to shine a light on the harmful effects of US international policy on real people’s lives.

To those of you who have already donated to CEPR’s Spotlight campaign, our sincere gratitude. We appreciate your support.
