The Coronavirus crisis is the greatest crisis many of us have lived through. It’s brought into sharp focus the failings of a decade of austerity and a 40-year period dominated by marketisation, deregulation and privatisation. Weak public services, a broken social care system, a woeful lack of workers’ rights, a hollowed-out social security system have all left us ill prepared to fight this crisis.
This week, as part of the ARISE Festival 2020, join Richard Burgon, leading international analyst and Ecuador’s former Foreign Minister Guillaume Long, and Laura McAlpine to look at the Coronavisis crisis, neoliberal failure and alternatives we need.
