On Wednesday, April 8, from 11am to 1pm, the Alaska AFL-CIO and Alaska Chamber of Commerce held a forum to debate the Employee Free Choice Act at the Captain Cook Hotel in Anchorage, AK.
Carl Shepro, a Professor of Political Science at the University of Alaska at Anchorage, moderated the event. Vince Beltrami, President of the Alaska AFL-CIO, and CEPR Senior Economist John Schmitt argued in favor of the Employee Free Choice Act. Marc Freedman, a representative of the US Chamber of Commerce, and Rebecca Logan, President of the Alaska Association of Builders and Contractors, spoke against the Employee Free Choice Act.
