The near-end of fiscal consolidation, the election of Syriza in Greece, the ECB’s decision to engage in quantitative easing, and other recent developments in the Eurozone indicate that the currency union is entering a new phase in its long struggle for economic recovery following the world financial crisis and recession of 2008-2009. Will the region’s next step be a sustained recovery, or something less?  What is the likely role of macroeconomic policy in the Eurozone going forward.
