Workplace practices designed to enhance workers’ (and sometimes employers’) flexibility are becoming increasingly important, as dual earner families continue to increase and time pressures on families intensify. CEPR Senior Economist Eileen Appelbaum took part in a session of the American Sociological Association annual meeting that discussed a variety of ways in which employers, unions and other policy makers are seeking to address concerns related to workplace flexibility.
