Washington — The National Collaborative for Health Equity (NCHE) yesterday named CEPR’s Algernon Austin as one of their inaugural group of Senior Scholars to advance health and racial equity and heal the wounds of structural racism.
“The Center for Economic and Policy Research congratulates Dr. Austin. As Director for Race and Economic Justice at CEPR, he is uniquely positioned to offer expertise and insights to advance health equity in communities of color,” said CEPR co-director Eileen Appelbaum.
“I’m excited to add my scholarship, together with others, in the service of addressing economic structures that entrench racism. By recognizing that racism is a public health crisis, we can begin to heal within and across communities,” said Austin.
NCHE Senior Scholars will share their knowledge with the NCHE network through publications, webinars and a special roundtable in Health Equity, a peer-reviewed journal that is NCHE’s official publication partner.
