Washington DC — The Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR), released today the Housing Market Monitor, a new in-depth, expert examination of the housing market. Authored by CEPR’s Dean Baker, this weekly report provides an incisive breakdown of the latest indicators and developments in the housing sector.

The housing bubble caused an unsustainable run-up in home prices. Its collapse is now leading to record setting rates of foreclosures and the loss of trillions of dollars in housing wealth . This unusual situation calls for just the sort of analysis to be found in the Housing Market Monitor. Each week, the Monitor provides a realistic picture of the housing collapse for analysts, homeowners and anyone concerned about the housing market’s meltdown.

Dean Baker is nationally recognized as one of the first to point out the housing bubble and the speculation driving it. Drawing from a number of sources and his own experience analyzing the landscape of the housing market, Baker will look at the trends and events that are wreaking havoc in the housing sector.

The Housing Market Monitor will continue to shed light on the housing bubble crash as long as it continues to send shockwaves through the US economy.  You can find new editions each Wednesday here
